Walter Gulick

Walter Gulick (born 1938) is a Professor Emeritus of Philosophy, Humanities and Religious Studies at Montana State University Billings in the U.S.A., where he has taught since 1974. He was appointed as a Fulbright Scholar to teach in Hungary and Moldova, and he has also taught in Netherlands (4 times), Finland, Turkey, and Estonia. He has served on the boards of North American Society for Social Philosophy, Institute of American Religious and Philosophical Thought, Society for the Study of Ultimate Reality and Meaning, and Polanyi Society (president for 6 years). He has been the book review editor of Tradition and Discovery: the Polanyi society Periodical for more than 20 years. Among the scores of articles he has published are “The Bible and Ecological Spirituality’; “Art, Identity, and Redemption in Nietzsche’s Philosophical Development”; and “ Polanyian Biosemiotics and the From-Via-To Dimensions of Meaning”.
